Hospital to Blame?

An unemployed Los Angeles father said in a suicide note that he methodically shot and killed his family before turning the gun on himself because he and his wife were fired by the hospital where they worked after being told "you should have blown your brains out."

But the hospital said it was "confident" that none of its employees told Ervin Lupoe to take his own life or kill his family.

Police are investigating after finding a horrific scene at the Lupoes' home in Wilmington, Calif., on Tuesday morning.

In one upstairs bedroom, the bodies of twin 2-year-old boys were found beside their dead mother. In another bedroom, 5-year-old twin girls and their 8-year-old sister lay next to their lifeless father.

Lupoe, a X-ray technician, and his wife had both recently been fired from their jobs at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center.

His letter, faxed to KABC-TV in Los Angeles, indicated that Lupoe and his wife — both 40 — had been investigated for misrepresenting their employment to an outside agency to obtain child care.

He claimed that an administrator told the couple on Dec. 23: "You should not even had bothered to come to work today you should have blown your brains out."

The Los Angeles Police Department said it's unlikely the hospital would be held legally responsible for telling Lupoe to blow his brains out.

"I don't know how someone's statement could be prosecuted," LAPD Officer Sam Park told FOXNews.com. "It's just like if I told you to go jump off a cliff. I don't think it could be prosecuted legally."

Park said he wasn't aware of any investigation into the hospital or its employees.

Attempts to reach the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office for clarification were unsuccessful.

Lupoe's letter said the couple complained to the human resources department and eventually were offered an apology, but two days later they were fired.

"They did nothing to the manager who stated such and did not attempt to assist us in the matter, knowing we have no job and five children under 8 years with no place to go. So here we are," the note said.

Police believe Ervin Lupoe killed his five children and his wife before turning the gun on himself.

"Why leave our children in someone else's hands?" Lupoe wrote in his letter to KABC. The station posted the letter on its Web site with parts redacted.

The station called authorities after receiving the fax and a phone call from Lupoe, and a police dispatch center also received a call from a man who said, "I just returned home and my whole family's been shot." Police are unsure who the male caller was, but they suspect it was the father.

Officers rushed to the home in Wilmington, a small community between the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and found the bodies.

All the victims were shot in the head, some multiple times, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. The killings may have occurred between Monday evening and early Tuesday, based on neighbors' accounts of firecracker sounds, he said.

Although the fax — addressed to "whom it may concern" and explaining "why we are dead" — asserted that the wife, Ana Lupoe, planned the killings of the whole family, police Lt. John Romero said Ervin Lupoe was the suspect. A revolver was found next to his body.

It was the fifth mass death of a Southern California family by murder or suicide in a year. Police urged those facing tough economic times to get help rather than resort to violence.

"Today our worst fear was realized," said Deputy Chief Kenneth Garner. "It's just not a solution. There's just so many ways you find alternatives to doing something so horrific and drastic as this."

Ervin Lupoe removed three of the children from school about a week and a half ago, saying the family was moving to Kansas, the principal told KCAL-TV. Crescent Heights Elementary School Principal Cherise Pounders-Caver said nothing seemed to be troubling Ervin Lupoe, and she did not ask why the family was moving.

Kaiser Permanente Medical Center West Los Angeles released a statement confirming Lupoe and his wife were fired as medical technicians more than a week ago. The hospital said the firings followed an internal investigation but would not specify why they lost their jobs.

Lupoe's fax identified his children as Brittney, 8; 5-year-old twins Jaszmin and Jassely; and twins Benjamin and Christian, ages 2 years and 4 months. Winter confirmed the identities of the girls, but the boys' names were pending.

To Amanda Garcia, everything seemed normal in the Lupoe house next door. Her neighbors always had a friendly wave and their five young children would play outside.

"They were happy, they had birthday parties," the 22-year-old Garcia said as she choked back tears near her home. "The kids were always outside on bikes, riding on their wagon.

ABC's

A long long time ago, there lived a prince who always dreamt of meeting the right girl.
Because the prince was so austere, not many people managed to get along with him very well.
Cajole persuasions were getting to the prince, he was just thinking of ways to make people like him and understand him better.
Due to these persuasions, he got one person to fall for his flattery.
Emily was her name, and she was a very affable person, she got along with everyone, and was very friendly and didn't judge.
Finally, after a couple of weeks after hanging out with her, he started having mixed emotions about her.
Gifts and Presents were his intent to surprise her, but he didn't know if she felt the same way about him, he wanted to find some way for her to figure out; and maybe this will help, he thought.
Henry, the prince, started planning and getting things ready for a big date, he was so nervous, all these thoughts were coming to his mind, but he really didn't want to get rejected.
If Emily doesn't feel the same way about him, he won't know what to do; this is his first girl he actually liked, and if she does; the first girl who liked him.
January was nearly here, and he better figure out something quick.
King Arthur had no idea about Henry falling in love, and he decided that he would give him some tips, and if he could, he wanted to meet this girl as soon as possible.
Later on that day after his talk with his dad, that was it, he thought, the perfect date would be for Emily to meet his parents, and maybe she would get that idea that he was falling for her.
Meeting his parents was a perfect idea, so he hurried and called Emily and asked her if she could eat dinner with them later that night.
Not to be rude or anything, but Henry asked her if she could dress up because this was a very important night for him; and she agreed and said okay.
Oh...how anxious Henry was!!!He couldn't wait til' tonight rolled around.
Putting on his tux and his shoes, he heard the gates opening. He looked out the window and it was Emily making her way closer and closer to the house, so he hurried to get the door.
Quickly he ran to get it, waiting impatiently til' she knocked.
Resentfully, he tried not to drop his jaw that much, but she look gorgeous!!!
Suddenly his parents walked around the corner to meet Emily.
Terrified she was, she was still manage to be affable, I don't know how she does it, he thought.
Unaware of my intentions, I asked her to leave the dinner table with me to take a walk, she was surprised, but was quick at answering.
Very slowly she got up and left with me, butterflies fluttered my stomach, He was so nervous.
Worried by what was coming about, I told her how I thought, and she didn't think I was a total idiot. She told me she felt the same way about me. That was the most revealing feeling that I have ever felt, Henry thought.
Xylitol wine and some sweet foods, were waiting for us under a tree, lit by the candle light.
Yabber and dazing in each others eyes, was all that I had in mind for that night, but Emily seemed to enjoy it.
ZZZZ's was the next, except i forget that part, but we lived happily ever after:)

It's a Dog's World!!

My name is Fancy, ain't I pretty? I live in a crazy home with humans all over the place. Which I can't complain. I have a warm cozy bed that I share with my mom, while the other dogs sleep outside in the cold and dark, man do I feel lucky!!!
I was conceived to this wonderful place about 3 months ago. At first I was a little scared to have new people that I didn't know, but as soon as I got food, a bed, and a secret door, I felt like I fit right in.
Of course I had parents, but I have no idea where they are now. I miss them a whole lot. My dad always played tag with me, while my mother always taught me all the good stuff I needed to know in doggy world. I can remember the pain and misery I was about to endure as I was walking down the sidewalk with my new parents, leaving my old ones. I wish some how they could've came along with me, but I try not to think about it as much.
You could say that I'm a cute little dog. Every time a little kid see's me, they squeeze me to death. I'm very playful. I don't have any other friends my type that lives here, but I do have kids,or I guess you could call them teenagers, that show me a lot of attention, or that's what I thought until about a week ago.
About a week ago, this creature that cries and screams all the time showed up at my house. It couldn't be human, it didn't resemble anybody else that lived here, but the humans sure did think he was way cuter than me. They started showing him or "it" more attention, and I was basically, as you can say, left out in the cold. For the first time since I've been here, I had to go outside, ME! I didn't know what to do, or what to think. I've never felt this lonely before. I wonder if they even noticed what they just did. Yeah, maybe that's it, they probably just weren't paying attention.
Well I thought wrong, I wasn't getting my way anymore, I barely got fed, and I was always getting put outside. This "it" thing is driving me insane! Why could they possibly love that creature more than me. I mean, I learned my lesson I guess, for what reason why, but I did. This situation was happening every single day now. I was learning what being a stray dog was like. I made friends after a couple of weeks. It wasn't to bad actually. I kind of enjoyed being outside, and the other dogs, they actually liked me, for me. I didn't have to pretend to be anyone else anymore. I realized that getting put outside was good for me.
So as of Now, I still live with my owners, in Childress Texas.

New Year-2009

For New Years I spent time with my friends, faith and chelsea, and of course our boyfriends were there. Chelsea has a cabin out in the country and all six of us had a blast out there. Usually people for new years parties and drinks, and whatever else, well we cooked hot dogs and made smores and rode four wheelers. It was fun, really fun. It wasn't but like 15 minutes out of town, but it was good to get away.
My New Years resolution is to make good grades and try super hard at getting along with my sister, being it her last year.
